de Reus Architects
One of the undisputed leaders in tropical architecture, de Reus Architects brings to each assignment a desire for harmony between the natural world and the manmade. Every assignment is approached from the outside in with the surrounding land, climate and culture dictating the approach to the design of the interior and exterior features of the structure. Guiding design principles include achieving a quality of timelessness, permanence, and realizing the elegance of simplicity. Common qualities to de Reus buildings are livability, comfort and appropriate scale. The work has a sense of order, with elements of surprise. Detailing is a fulfillment of the architectural concept. Natural materials and attention to craftsmanship support feelings of enduring permanence and luxury.

KMD Architects
If there is a theme running through all KMD's work, it is that of Place making. Place making suggests that successful projects need to cast a spell on its user and community. It requires both a sensitivity to place and the creation of uniquely useable space. Recognizing the architectural impact on users, promoting human interaction, developing a context that responds to the scale of the surrounding environment, and connecting with roots often traceable to indigenous design are all important elements. The firm's most basic convictions are grounded in the fundamental belief that great architecture is less a matter of style than of discovery and innovation. It is a relentless pursuit of finding ways to connect function, need, context, and most importantly, to develop a unique sense of place.

Vita Planning & Landscape Architecture
In its work in Mexico, Hawaii, The Cayman Islands, Thailand, The Philippines, The Bahamas, Korea and across the United States, VITA has demonstrated the ability to respectfully merge the built environment with the natural landscape through thoughtful, collaborative design. Inherent in their design process is knowledge and respect for local and regional cultures and customs, the environment and history. This understanding of the land and its history is a foundation of design and provides cultural connections to place.
